Alatengheili started wrestling in school Because he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his father. He was invited by a talent scout to join a team in Beijing, seeing the talent in his wrestling. There he decided to pursue a career in mixed martial arts.

Alatengheili started his MMA career in October 2013. Before making his UFC debut, he competed in several MMA organizations including RUFF, CKFC, Kunlun Fight, WBK, and Road FC. He won his first professional fight against Woong Hee Lee in October 2013 but lost his second professional fight against Yadong Song in November 2013.
He had a record of 5-6-0 till September 2015 but he won 5 consecutive fights in 2016 with one draw, due to which his record became 10-6-1 till November 2016. He faced Japanese mixed martial artist Kai Asakura on March 11, 2017 at Road FC 37, but he lost this fight via KO in the first round. After winning two fights in 2018, Alatengheili made his UFC debut in 2019.
And on 31 August 2019, he appeared at UFC Fight Night 157 in which he faced Batgerel Danaa. He won this fight via Unanimous Decision. After this, he was seen at UFC Fight Night 165 on 21 December 2019 in which he faced Ryan Benoit. He also won this fight in the third round via Split decision. Thus he took his Pro MMA record to 14-7-1 by December 2019.
However, he then lost via Unanimous Decision at UFC on ESPN 16 on 3 October 2020. After this he appeared at UFC Fight Night 192 on September 2021 in which he faced Gustavo Lopez. But the fight ended in a draw. On 16 April 2022, he faced Kevin Croom at UFC on ESPN 34. He won the fight via a technical knockout in the first round.
Alatengheili faced Chad Anheliger on 10 September 2022 at UFC 279. He defeated Chad Anheliger in the third round via unanimous decision.
